Counselling can help you to explore your life and its issues by offering you the time and a safe place to talk through what is troubling you. Counselling can raise awareness of your feelings, thoughts and patterns of behaviour that are unhelpful to you as well as acknowledge your strengths and develop a wider range of coping strategies.
It can also help you as a means of support while recovering from a significant life event by having someone to listen to you in an empathic, non-judgemental way so that you feel heard. Together we would look at your choices and some ways that problems can be resolved through better ways of relating and communicating with others.
I offer counselling for an agreed number of sessions or on an open-ended basis. It can be quite difficult to know how many counselling session may be required at the beginning of therapy. This will depend on the number of issues you wish to explore and the complexity of these issues. We can discuss this during the informal session.
